Goodbye to our chairperson, Lee

We are sad to say that at the end of the month we will say farewell to Lee Adams
Lee Adams, Chairperson of our trustees at Healthwatch North Yorkshire

Lee has been a trustee and our chairperson for almost two and a half years and will be stepping down at the end of May.

She has helped to successfully guide Healthwatch North Yorkshire through a pivotal time in its recent history, including for example, the renewal of our Healthwatch contract, progress across our governance and polices, and a number of high-quality pieces of work, including our reports on mental health, rurality, younger people, and our latest report on community postnatal care.

Lee will be greatly missed by her fellow trustees, Chief Executive Officer, and staff, and we wish her luck in her new endeavours.

We look forward to continuing the work that Lee, our trustees, and staff have begun this year and welcome the opportunities to build on our work, and relationships across health and social care to ensure the public’s voice is heard and influences improvements in their care and wellbeing.

"I would like to thank our trustees and staff who have been a great support to the organisation."

Lee Adams, trustee chairperson at Healthwatch North Yorkshire

"My thanks extends to our health and social care providers across the county who we work with to champion successes and call on to improve care. These  include those in the NHS, North Yorkshire Council, and Humber & North Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership, as well as our colleagues in West Yorkshire, the Care Quality Commission, volunteers and community organisations.

Our unique role at Healthwatch North Yorkshire is to listen and gather the views of the public and to inform commissioners, policy makers and providers so they can make sure they respond to people’s views and needs effectively."
