The information shared will help review current pharmacy services, shape future pharmacy services, and inform local plans to make sure our local pharmacies offer the services our communities need, where and when they need them.

The survey is confidential and should only take around 10 minutes to complete. You can share your views before Sunday 2 March 2025 11:59pm at www.northyorks.gov.uk/nypna

Printed copies are also available at North Yorkshire Council libraries, York Explore, Acomb Explore, Clifton Explore and Tang Hall Explore.

Who wants to know your views

Each health and wellbeing board has a responsibility by law (sometimes known as a 'statutory' responsibility) to publish and keep up to date a statement of needs for pharmaceutical services for people locally every three years. This is called the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.

Health and wellbeing boards were established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to act as a forum in which key leaders from the local health and care system could work together to improve the health and wellbeing of their local population

To help plan and write the next assessment (2025 – 2028) for North Yorkshire and the City of York we are asking for resident views about the locations, accessibility and services provided by pharmacy services.

Why you're being asked to share your views

We know it’s frustrating to be asked to fill out another survey, and we truly appreciate your time. But your feedback really does make a difference - helping to shape pharmacies. We want to understand what our communities need, and how things might change in the future to help ensure pharmacies provide good access to the services people need, at the right time. By sharing your experiences, you’re making sure services work better for you and your community. Thank you.

The new reports will be published in autumn 2025 and will help inform local plans for the commissioning and providing of pharmaceutical services.
