The Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccination is being offered to health and care workers and any remaining trust colleagues who have yet to receive their first vaccine dose. The first person to be vaccinated at the new hub was Amanda Buck, who works for Middlesbrough based charities Allied Resource Community and Breckon Hill Community Enterprise which provides social support and other services. The 49-year-old, from Redcar, said: “I was absolutely over the moon to be told that I was receiving the vaccination, I felt vulnerable working with the community so I was relieved to be getting it.

The service at the Friarage was fantastic, the team were very welcoming, professional, positive and swift.

Amanda, like many others, is now looking forward to the day we return to some sort of normality.

“I’m looking forward to being able to carry on working and engaging with the community when we are no longer under restrictions.”

NHS staff are working hard to vaccinate people against coronavirus.

There’s no need to contact the NHS to be vaccinated, they will contact you when it’s your turn.
