Help at hospital - patient check-in kiosks

Patient check-in kiosks are available at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and Friarage Hospital in Northallerton
Staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with the self check-in kiosks

If you are a patient or accompanying someone attending The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, did you know both hospitals have patient check-in kiosks either in outpatient departments or main entrances that help let us know when you have arrived for your appointment?

James Cook and the Friarage are actively encouraging patients and families to report in via the check-in kiosks. Check-in kiosks are the first step in our digital patient journey. This allows our clinicians to see your current location, whether you are waiting for your consultation to begin or undergoing a diagnostic test before your consultation.

This is part of the continued work to improve outpatient service and ensure appointments run as smoothly as possible.

Easy check-in

The kiosks can be used to check-in for appointments via a mobile app on a mobile phone.

All you have to do is install the “Intouch Appointment Manager 2’ app on iPhone (IOS) or Android phone.

They are clearly signposted and located at the main entrance points in various outpatient departments across both hospitals.

Benefits of using the kiosks

  • Less time spent queuing
  • Live check-in; as soon as you check in, staff know you have arrived
  • Updated waiting times; the calling screens can display any clinics that are running late
  • You can ensure the trust always has your most up to date contact details
  • Selectable language
