The local NHS in Harrogate (also known as Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust) now have a community hub based at 7 Grove Park Court, Harrogate, HG1 4DP.

It sees over 60 patients a day for podiatry services such as: minor nail surgery, wound care and musculo-skeletal assessments, as well as speech and language services such as vocal assessment and management of communication or swallowing disorders.

Why have the services moved?

Both podiatry and speech and language therapy departments were required to move in response to the discovery of a certain type of concrete in the therapy service block of Harrogate District Hospital.

This type of concete is less durable than traditional concrete and is considered a safety risk because it can fail and collapse suddenly. It is currently being demolished and replaced with a new day case surgery and omaging department.

The new building

The planning team worked alongside clinical colleagues to identify a new permanent base for both teams that would support them in continuing to deliver high quality services in a safe, accessible environment.

The building was then renovated to accommodate over 70 clinical staff with a dedicated admin base for the nursing teams, six outpatient clinic rooms and an orthotics laboratory.

No change to your care

There will be no change to the podiatry and speech and language therapy services provided at Harrogate District Hospital, such as joint consultant clinics and inpatient work, which will continue as usual.

The community hub also has dedicated patient parking available outside the building’s front entrance for ease of access.

"The new Harrogate base is a purpose built, modern clinic space. Our team of podiatrists are proud to be able to continue to provide a high level of care from a comfortable, welcoming environment. We are receiving really positive feedback from patients that have attended for appointments since the move."
