The Wellbeing in Mind Team is a new Mental Health Support Team based across eight secondary schools in the Harrogate District.

They sit within the NHS trust of Tees, Esk and Wear Valley and are partly funded by the Depart for Education.

They have three functions as a service;

  1. to support schools introduce or develop their whole-school approach to wellbeing
  2. to give timely advice to school staff, and liaise with external specialist services
  3. to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education, and to deliver evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues in the form of one-to-one or group work.

The service aims to be preventative and support children and young people to build resilience and learn coping strategies to prevent the onset of poor mental health.

For more information, please speak to the designated mental health lead within your school.
