What is West Yorkshire Voice?
West Yorkshire Voice is a network that brings together individuals, community and voluntary groups to ensure the voice of people is at the heart of health and care decision-making across services in West Yorkshire.
It's open and free for anyone to join. If you live in Harrogate, you might access services in Leeds. Or if you live in Settle or Craven, you might travel to Keighley. Wherever you live, if you travel to West Yorkshire to access treatment, operations, or support, then we'd love to hear your views.
For anyone accessing services in North Yorkshire, you can share your story here.
What do we want to hear about
We want feedback from anyone who uses GPs and hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, care/nursing homes or other support services in your area, we want to hear about those experiences.
The aim is for everyone to be involved in a way that works for them and to include the voice of those with the greatest health inequalities.
The NHS are also working to reduce the gap in life expectancy for people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and autism (any age), and increase hourly cancer diagnosis.
Who do we want to hear from?
The network especially wants to hear from people with experience of health and care services, unpaid carers, people from communities who might not always feel they have a voice. You can speak out on behalf of a loved one, neighbour or friend.
The power of your feedback
We use your feedback to better understand the challenges facing the NHS and other care providers nationally, to make sure your experiences improve health and care services for everyone.
It’s really important that you share your experiences – whether good or bad, happy or sad. If you’ve had a negative experience, it’s easy to think there’s no point in complaining and that ‘nothing ever changes’. Or, if you’ve had a great experience, that you ‘wish you could say thank you’. We want to find out what works well, what doesn't work well and what might help to make things better.
Your thoughts and ideas will help us to have conversations with senior decision makers at a West Yorkshire level about how healthcare should be designed and delivered.
How to get involved
There are lots of opportunities to get involved and share experiences, including completing the survey, taking part in discussion groups and at events. The opportunities and outcomes from what you tell us will be including in a regular e-newsletter.
The aim is for everyone to be involved in a way that works for them and to include the voice of those with the greatest health inequalities.

Take the survey (anonymously)
You don't have to leave your name and your feedback will not affect your care. You can complete the survey on behalf of someone else (for example, if you're a carer, or on behalf of a loved one).
"We really want to reach as many people as possible, so that we can make sure people’s feedback and experiences of local services are heard at the highest level. This is ultimately all about making the right decisions and ones that make a positive difference to everyone’s lives."
