Meet the team at Healthwatch North Yorkshire
Ashley Green
Chief Executive Officer
Ashley leads the Healthwatch North Yorkshire team and works with decision-makers across the health and care system as well as voluntary and community organisations to represent people using health and social care services in North Yorkshire. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the independent organisation, which is commissioned by North Yorkshire Council to carry out statutory duties under the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
Ashley works closely with the board of trustees to ensure Healthwatch is running as it should.
He has spent over 25 years working in the voluntary and local authority sectors, including working for Yorkshire Cancer Research, the British Lung Foundation, and Nottinghamshire County Council. Ashley has previously volunteered for Oxfam.
Alicia Rose
Research and Projects Coordinator
Alicia manages the insight we receive from the public about their experiences and works with decision-makers within the NHS and North Yorkshire Council to let them know what is working well and how care can be made better for people.
She leads on our research projects, working with Helen to capture the views of our public and to write reports that champion successes as well as influencing improvements to health and social care services by those who commission and run them.
Her role also involves looking after our volunteers and making sure they have the training and support they need to volunteer with us.
Alicia manages our enter and view visits to assess health and social care services, in particular care homes, to see how it is for staff, residents and their families and identify areas for improvement.
She is passionate about healthcare, ensuring everyone has the right to excellent care.
Helen Littler
Community Engagement and Projects Officer
Helen makes sure our offices run smoothly and safely and supports our board of trustees and staff team in their activities. She makes sure that the incoming and outgoing expenses are accurate.
She manages our information and signposting service, answering people’s questions about local health and care services, listening to their experiences, and helping to get them to service that’s right for them.
Helen's role also covers projects, working with Alicia to capture the public views and making evidence-based recommendations for reports.
She works with our volunteers to make sure they have the training and support they need to volunteer with us.
This includes visits to health and social care services to see them in action, which offers a way for us to meet some of Healthwatch North Yorkshire’s statutory functions and to identify what is working well with services and where they could be improved.
Helen is passionate about using patient experience to help improve health and social care outcomes for local people.
Craig Derrick
Marketing and Communications Officer
Craig's role is to develop content such as social media, blogs, advice and news articles, newsletters and reports to help communicate the work that Healthwatch does across the county.
He champions positive health and social care experiences, as well as raising awareness about those that needs to change through the power of the media. He handles requests for interview and writes all Healthwatch North Yorkshire press releases.
Craig loves being creative to help communicate the value of Healthwatch to the people.
