Free hygiene and continence products for people in Selby
Did you know - problems with the bladder affect more than 14 million people in the UK and about 6.5 million have bowel problems? (Source: NHS England). Add to the mix the sensitivities, a lack of open conversation, an assumption that it only affects old people, and a lack of provisions, then it's easy to see why it's a worry for many seeking help.
Recognising the challenges faced by many in accessing continence products. Healthwatch, Up for Yorkshire and Second Chance Ostomy are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has the dignity and support they deserve. To ensure that everyone’s needs are met, a range of essential products, including sanitary wear, nappies for children, and continence care supplies are available.
We understand that accessing these items can sometimes be difficult or embarrassing, but there’s absolutely no shame in seeking support. The aim is to create a supportive and discreet environment where individuals can access the products they need without hesitation.
Community House in Selby provides a welcoming space with accessible facilities to accommodate everyone’s needs.
We encourage everyone to spread the word about this initiative and to reach out to Community House for assistance.
