About this event
Healthwatch is here to help improve health and social care for you.
When you need information about getting an appointment with your GP, help to find an NHS dentist or the right care home; if you need a helping hand accessing self-help groups or support for your mental health, or you need to access any other health and social care service like hospitals, care centres, pharmacies or home care services at any point in your life — Healthwatch is your health and social care champion.
We work independently for everyone who uses health and social care services. We find out what matters to you and make sure that your voice shapes the support you need. It’s our job to listen to your experiences and share your views with those who can do something about it.
We know that finding an NHS dentist is difficult at the moment.
On 3 October, Healthwatch will bring together patients, professionals, NHS managers (and everyone in between) to discuss how we can improve NHS dentistry for people in our area.
We need your help, experiences and ideas to help shape the future of dentistry.
We want to hear from people who:
- do not have an NHS dentist
- do have an NHS dentist
- have a private dentist
- are dentists
- are professionals working with people who struggle to access NHS dentistry
- have loved ones who’ve struggled to access NHS dentists
- have new ideas to help people access dentists in their local area
West Yorkshire NHS managers have dedicated £4.5 million over the next 12 months to understand how people want to access NHS dentists. This includes Craven in North Yorkshire. We need you to tell us what’s worked, what hasn’t, what matters to you and what you think should change to improve dentistry care for everyone.
This online event is the first of many opportunities for people to talk about their experiences and share ideas about how we can improve dentistry in West Yorkshire. Future events may be in person across our region, where like-minded people can chat about their challenges and how we can make plans to improve.
Attendees will be sent the Microsoft Teams link on 3rd October at 10am
